Lady1, your trip sounds wonderful. I'm so glad you enjoyed Central Park and especially glad you enjoyed Cinderella since I'm probably taking my 12-year-old niece to see it in August. Unfortunately we'll miss Carly Rae Jepson and Fran Drescher but I trust the new cast will be just as good. I wish I could get our tickets at TCKTS but we'll need 5 and I'm not prepared to gamble on it. I'm going to wait for a discount from Broadwaybox or Playbill.
I'm so happy you mentioned Ellen's Stardust Diner! I'd forgotten all about it and I think it's the kind of thing my niece would love. I can't seem to get the website to work very well for me so maybe you can answer my questions. When do you think is the best time for us to go (that is, for the most performances)? We may be able to go for dinner on Friday night or Saturday before or after Cinderella. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
gtg

Our first night was Friday and we thought about going then, but didn't get there till after 9pm and there was a long line. Thought it wasn't worth it so we wandered on looking for something else. 30-40 minutes later others of our group had gotten in and said there was room. Too late for us
My roomie went for lunch on Tuesday and loved it and then we both went Tuesday night with no wait. They really don't do shows. It's just waiters and waitresses doing numbers so I guess it's all day long. We were busy during the usual dinner hours so I don't know how busy it is then and can't advise, but it seems lunch and even after dinner for dessert or drinks (I'm told the milkshakes are to die for!) are good, too.
It's only a block or so and across the street from Cinderella, so I think after that performance might be a great time.

Thanks so much, Lady. I think I might surprise the group with it after the theatre. Or maybe we'll walk by on Friday night and see how long the line is. I'd sort of like to spread out the fun stuff for her.
