We will be in NO next weekend. We would like to go to a great Sunday Brunch, but are not bringing a jacket or dress clothes! Any suggestions. What is the attire for Commanders Palace?

I think you will enjoy Commanders. I love the Garden Room. I haven't eaten brunch there but for dinner I usually wear casual/dressy clothes. Similar to what you would consider church clothes. I would imagine nice pants & a shirt. Jeans would seem to insult the atmosphere. On their website it says jackets for dinner & "upscale" for brunch.
There is also the Court of Two Sister's brunch. It might be a bit less dressy. Just remember it is HOT, HUMID & dry here. Bring some cool weather & rain, please! Have a great visit.

The gospel brunch at the House of Blues is great. (Yes, it's a chain). Well, the singing and the music were great. The food was pretty good - some basic fare and also seafood and local dishes. We really went for the entertainment, though, rather than food.

just got back from new orleans.great brunch at Two Sisters--good jazz combo--no jackets-in garden. ate great meals at Bayonne(ask for garden) Becco and Bella Luna. Lunch at Galatoire-need jacket. dinner at Commanders Palace--very very noisy in Garden room. meals were great. go to Preservation Hall for old time jazz.

Sunday Jazz Brunch at Cafe SBisa on Decatur is nice. Upscale casual. Not dressy. Get the white chocolate bread pudding.

Was just at the House of Blues Gospel Brunch a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun. Food was good, not exceptional, but good enough. Most people were dressed in business casual (kind of like church clothes, really). We had a good time there.

Just came back yesterday from NO. Although my husband and I were greatly disappointed in the city, the one nice thing we did was jazz brunch at Delmonico's. It was excellent.

I'm sorry you and your husband were disappointed in New Orleans. I don't live there, but we are frequent visitors. We have found that most people either love New Orleans (like we do) or hate it. Very few people are indifferent. It's just that kind of place. However, you must admit it is a city like no other in the United States. At the very least you can say you've been there.
