Sunblock in Alaska?

Some doctors recommend always wearing sunblock. Some recommend a SPF of at least 15. Some think that there is not too much difference after you get higher than 15 (for example SPF of 15 is much better than 5 but SPF of 40 is not much better than 30).

My niece is visiting and used to live in Alaska. She says the temps probably won't get any higher than 75 inland. She tried every year to get a tan in Anchorage and couldn't. You won't need sunscreen, but if you want to have protection due to sensitivity, I'd suggest SPF 15. I also have a very good friend who used to live in Fairbanks, I'll ask her what she suggests, too.
