We have found it very easy to drive downtown... except when there's a ballgame (pick ANY sport in Cleveland) or rush hour traffic. The highways nd streets are well marked and easy to navigate. It's not as busy as most larger cities.

If you like chocolates, stop in at the flagship store of Harry London Candies in Canton. It is easy to find off of a highway. MMMMM.

You can visit the Glenn NASA center? I've lived here all my life and have never heard of anyone going there. Could someone clarify this?

Definitely go to the Great Lakes Science Center and Rock n Roll in one day!

I've not heard of anyone going there either but I went to their website and they do have a visitor center.

amelie, you're not alone in not knowing about the visitor's center...I lived in the Cleveland area almost my whole life until last year AND I have 3 very good friends who work at NASA and I was only vaguely aware the visitor's center existed and never knew anyone who visited it...I'm wondering if maybe there's not much to it? But, I haven't done any research, so who knows, it could be some kind of hidden gem.

If you're looking for something to do Saturday morning, the West Side Market is a lot of fun, and not too far from downtown. Last summer, every Saturday, across the street from the market there were local artists & musicians, so it was like a festival atmosphere. Then you could have lunch at Great Lakes Brewing Co. which is right across the street from the market as well. They have pleasant outdoor seating.

And if you get a chance, do visit Little Italy (on the east side of Cleveland) for dinner one evening. Any restaurant would be a good pick (Mama Santa's has the best pizza!). It's so much fun in the summer, people-watching, eating outside...

Cleveland is a nice city...Have fun!

mma: just happened upon your post and hope you see this before you leave. In downtown Cleveland just east of the R-n-R Hall of Fame is the USS Cod, a working WWII submarine that my nephews couldn't get enough of!! Also if you head out over the Superior bridge to the west of downtown - the West Side market is a great place to gawk, have lunch or pick something up for a picnic. Also nearby there is the Great Lakes Brewing Company. Its one of the most accalimed mini breweries in the country and has a nice "pub" menu and outside dining.
