Suggestions: Palm Springs Hotel

Preferably one that isn't pretending to be some sort of oldie recording and the pool of which is somewhat bigger than a bathtub.

One of the supposed resorts perhaps but not any that have pictures of "bedbugs" posted on Trip Advisor.

It doesn't need to be "near" downtown because we will have and will plan to use a rental car.

Fabulous views are always nice. Up-to-date amenities helpful and they do not need to be named after any chefs, designers, singers, or movie stars.

The "budget" question: less than $1000 a night for two and thank you for imaginative responses which qualify you as more than some bored person in your cube.

Dukey, we have recently returned from Palm Springs where we stayed at two different hotels. One was the Triada, a Marriott signature property. Lovely place, part of it was an old estate. All of the rooms are different from each other, some are very large. Nice pools and a great location between the Movie Colony and downtown.

We also stayed at the Andalusian Court, on the edge o downtown (near Spencers restaurant). This is an old property from the days of Hollywood stars staying there. This is where Lucy and Ricky Riccardo honeymooned. We stayed in "their" suite, which had wonderful outdoor spaces including a fire pit and an outdoor bathtub. The rooms have full kitchens. Small place, just 6 or 7 rooms.

Have a good time!

Hi Dukey
Another option might be The Willows on West Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs. It's also a small hotel and in a beautiful setting.

I was also going to suggest the Willows except they have a room named after a movie star. This may cross them off your list.

MichelleY, it's when the entire establishment attempts to be an old record that I get suspicious.

Love the Willows but it has a small pool and it's downtown so I was only posting to tell you to stay away. We stayed in the Einstein room. It's lovely.

It was Gardyloo's recommendation that inspired us to stay at the Andalusian Court. Thanks, Gardyloo!

We love the gorgeous La Quinta resort..
Rennaisance resort or the Colony.

Also,Casa Elizabeth, which is the former home Elizabeth Taylor and tho' I have much disdain for AirBnB, this is one I approve of..
$600 a night for 4 bdr home, with a lovely pool and sounds perfect for you and your honey bun!

Make sure you go have lunch/brunch/dinnrat Le Vallaurius on the patio...get the 3 course meal!
