Aloha
I have one thing to say about the 4th
of July in Kaanapali, don't bother.
The traffic jam to get out of Kaanapali
after the way to short 10-15 min fireworks display is a nightmare so I
say go to Oahu instead they do a much better job than Maui does. I live here
and I stay as far away as I can.

Again I must agree with JDP the 4th
of July on Maui is nothing to get
excited over, family bbq's and the like
are fun but the fireworks display is
not worth the trouble of the traffic jam after.
The one event that Maui does do right is Halloween, that I suggest you check
out if you can. It has become "the Mardi Gras" of the pacific. It is a fun
for everyone kind of day.
Enjoy

Makawao is THE place to be on July Fourth--Parade, World-class rodeo, lots of goings on.
As for fireworks, the Maui Prince and the Grand Wailea both have great displays. We go down to the beach to watch them, and then we go home and set off some more fireworks!
