Suggestions for Family Re-union location in Kentucky or Tennessee?

Hi,

I am attempting to select a place for next year June/July timeframe to host a family re-union for about 40-60 people. I'm trying to find a location that would have something for everyone and even include options for camping or resort. What I DO NOT want is anything would remotely resemble a tourist town like a Branson, Missouri as that place gave me the creeps - too many tourist shops and crowds galore!

Also I am hoping the location would have an airport within 1-1.5 hours that people could fly into...

Any suggestions?

Louisville or Nashville. Both have camping options nearby, large airports, and plenty of attractions for everyone.

Western Kentucky's Land Between the Lakes area is wonderful. It is about 90 miles from Nashville.

Probably too late but I just joined and saw your old message from the spring. I live in Asheville NC which is close to TN, GA, & SC. They do have an Airport but you can also fly in to GSP (Greenville/Spartanburg, SC) just 1 hour away, or Charlotte just 1.5 hours away. Asheville is an awsome town. It has plenty to do indoors and outdoors, shops attractions, rafting, hiking, camping, high end resort properties and low cost hotels plus everything in between. Lots of entertainment and live music at night including a free bluegrass festival every Saturday night in downtown. If you are still looking for a place to go, you should seriously consider Asheville. I helped my wifes family plan their reunion and it was the most popular they have had. Let me know if i can help. Check out: www.exploreasheville.com & www.wildwaterrafting.com. Biltmore Estate is also in Asheville. I believe their web site is www.bitmore.com. If not you can find it on the Asheville site. If you have already planned this year keep Asheville in mind for the future.
Make it a Great day!! Jeff

I would also select Louisville, their airport is fairly accessible as is Cincinnatis'.
