What to see between Charlotte SC and Hendersonville NC

To save some $ we are flying to Charlotte and driving to Hendersonville. Any suggestions of something to see in between? Otherwise, aside from Pisgah and Chimney Rock, any suggestions for what to do around Hendersonville? Great restaurants? Thanks.

It is NC. Hendersonville is close to Asheville. There really isn't much in between Charlotte and Hendersonville.
Brevard has an outstanding summer music camp/concerts.

I suggest that you go to www.visitnc.com. This is an official web site for travel in North Carolina. It can provide you with the info you are looking for. Also,www.mapquest.com has some ideas. As far as Hendersonville is concerned you might want to check out www.historichendersonville.org/. The area you are traveling to is very beautiful and worth seeing. I attended college in Brevard, NC and loved the area.

It's on the state line. It's a minor faux pas, if any. Maybe it's a faux pico?

I agree with heading towards the mountains. Lots to see in the area around Hendersonville. If you want a detour, the Boone/ Banner Elk/ Valle Crucis area is beautiful, but not really "in between". It would be a true detour.
