Suggestions for celebrating my 50th birthday
I'm looking for some ideas on something fabulous to do for my 50th birthday. I want to stay in the U.S. and cost doesn't have to be too economical. Good chance I'll be by myself unless I can get a friend to join me. I'd be interested in some sort of adventure trip.....I just want it to be memorable...I'm very athletic so something in that arena would work as well.....
Thanks

If you're interestd in boats and sailing, I might suggest you check the website for the American Sail Training Association.
It's an organization for 200 or so Tall Ships, many of whom are available to those who are willing to spend some time crewing on their boat.
I had an opportunity to crew on the Tall Ship Rose several years ago and it was a once in a lifetime trip. (BTW, the Rose was the boat used in the film Master and Commander."

Without knowing if you are male or female and what your interests and physical ability might be how about any of the following:
Whitewater Rafting
Race Driver's School
Hot Air Ballooning
Glider Flight
Air Combat Flight
Mountain Biking Trip
A visit to a "Cowboy" Guest Ranch
Fly Fishing Trip to Montana
I'm 61 and done all of those (except Mountain Biking) in the last 10 years and had a blast. By far, Race Drivers School was the most exciting thing I've ever done.
