Suggestions for a Charlotte Vacation

I am a 31-year old woman who is looking for a nice, upscale, but not too expensive hotel to stay in at the beginning of July. Can anyone suggest a hotel that is close to many attractions and within walking distance? Also I would like to know what attractions you would suggest we visit. I am looking for fun nightlife, and many sights and nice restaurants.

Why in the world are you planning to visit Charlotte? Unless you have friends or family here, I'd suggest you visit Charleston, Savannah or Asheville.

Brandi, you're kidding, right? If not, I'm sure we can point you towards some top strip malls and a nice Ruby Tuesday's.

I just stayed in downtown Charlotte for a conference. It was so dead after hours. I can't imagine a walking tour of Charlotte

You can't go see a pro basketball game, either. The team left town!
