The airport Hilton would be a lot better than Hull, and I have had it on Priceline for less than $100 including tax. They have a shuttle to the T.
What is your conference hotel rate? Often I have been able to extend my stay in a conference hotel at the lower conference rate. You have nothing to lose by calling and asking them.

The hotel rate with the conference is like 2-something a night. It's ridiculous.....I wound up changing it to the Bulfinch Hotel which is a block from TD Arena. The reviews I've read were favorable, the rooms apparently are pretty small but I'm not planning on spending a whole lot of time in the rooms so I don't think that'll be too much of a problem. Thanks to all for the advice, I really appreciate it.
