Stream trout fishing in the Poconos

A friend and I are going fishing in late May and he would like to do some stream trout fishing. Any place or lake that comes to mind?
Thanks!

There are a few very nice streams in the area.. Two "popular" ones are Penn's Creek and Spring Creek. Fished Spring creek a few years ago, fantastic. There are several fly fishing only areas, catch and release. I am not sure of the hatches on there at that time of year. For more info there is a good fly fishing shop in the area,,, I think it is called Spring Creek Outfitters,,, there are two guys that own it,,, they are both very knowlegable. Also, there used to be a web site,, flyfishpa.com..... I think,,, but try searching fly fishing and pennsylvania and you should find a few good matches. Good fishing to you.

Thanks bdfisher. Just where is Spring Creek? We are coming from Oxford, PA on the Maryland border and could you tell me the approximate area where this fishing is? Thanks again for your help.

Come to Columbia County, just west of the Poconos, home of Fishing Creek and some of the best trout fishing around (Jimmy Carter use to fish here). Visit the following website for information about the area:

www.itourcolumbiamontour.com

Many years ago I fished on the Young Woman's Creek while staying at the Bucktail Campground in North Bend, which is further north and west, vicinity of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. A section of the the stream was restricted to fly fishing only. It was loaded with trout.

Happy fishing. Peace.

Also look at Lycoming & Clinton Counties in NE Pennsylvania. Many small streams good for "Native" or brown trout (the best to eat!) An occasional rainbow. We love to hunt, fish and camp here!
