As a rule, is it any cheaper to stay at a resort, say from Tues to Tues rather than say, Sat. to Sat? I hope I am making my question clear.

I believe you would be including an entire weekend either way. Usually the lower prices come Sun.-Thurs. only. You'll still be paying for a Fri./Sat. either way.

Sometimes air fares are cheaper during the week though, so it's worth checking.

I thought airlines and/or resorts have lower prices depending on what day you arrive....I'm probably wrong..it's been known to happen =)

I see....well, there is no real rule of thumb.Some destinations have set days for their packages.Its just too broad to generalize, IMHO...

I agree with BeachBoi - it all depends on where and when you go. The only real way to determine when or if a resort offers lower rates is to call them or check their websites.

No iron clad rule but across the board, no.

In a city dwellings, say downtown Atlanta, hotels are cheaper on the the weekend because the business travelers leave.

However, out in Reynolds Plantation, weekends are more expensive because that is where people go to escape.

From what I've experienced, the airlines are lower if you fly mid-week, vs weekends to places like Hawaii, so your flight would probably be less expensive flying mid-week. But hotels are a different story - most raise their rates for Friday and Saturday, but have lower rates during the week (Sun-Thurs). Sometimes getting a weekly rate will help. Without knowing where you're talking about going it's kind of hard to help.

GoTravel - that's why I said places like Hawaii - their mid-week rates are sometimes lower, and here in Las Vegas the mid-week rates are ALWAYS lower.
