Been to a dinner at Tonga Room several years ago. The food is fine, the drinks are very good, the service is friendly. They start the rain/thunderstorm thing and live singing at 7 pm. If it's a special occasion they will dedicate one of the songs to you. Not sure how much the cover charge is now. Make advance reservations. Very romantic place.

Why not try both?
The Tonga Room is pure kitsch ... a fun, goofy throwback kind of place with crazy cocktails in tiki head mugs sprouting paper umbrellas and tropical fruit garnishes. The music is cheeseball lounge stuff and the decor is the Pacific Rim via Disneyland, with a retro wink.
The Starlight Room strives for a much more elegant feel - it's trying to be the Rainbow Room in NYC, really. Classic cocktails reign supreme and the decor is plush red velvet, low lights and dark wood. Very clubby. And it has a beautiful view of the city, being up so high in the hotel.
