Definitely try to do the Irish Channel Parade on March 16th. I find the best viewing to be on the Magazine Street part of the parade route (around Louisiana Ave.) Parade throws include all the ingredients for an Irish stew (potatoes, carrots, cabbages onions) Watch out for the cabbages because they do throw them and being hit unexpectedly by a stray cabbage can be painful. However if you have had enough to drink, you want even feel it.
