St. Augustine - what is there to do with children?

We will be visiting the St. Augustine area in March. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Nothing. My dad took us there when I was a kid and it was BORING! I still resent him for that. Go to Cape Canaveral.

The Castillo de San Marcos would be fun. It is an old Spanish outpost. See http://www.nps.gov/casa/ for more

Pam...I was in St. Augustine last February. A good place to take your children is the Alligator Park...it was fun, and there is a lot more to see than just alligators.

Pam--

Kids will enjoy the beach, some of the siller attractions (Fountain of Youth, Ripley's, Alligator Farm etc.) but they will most enjoy climbing all the way to the top of the historic St. Augustine Ligthhouse, a beautiful black and white stripe landmark that has a rich history and is supposedly haunted. There's a small museum there, too. Also, there's an open-air tour tram that runs through the city---take it, is it is the bast way to see everything without having to park, which can be a hassle there. Kids will like the ride, and you'll get a dose of history, too.
Definitely go to the A-1A Alehouse while you are in town. It's one of the best restaurants in the area and has a terrific view of the Bridge of Lions and the bay.
Have fun!
