Sprint PCS Cell service in St Louis
I need to sign up for new cell phones in St. Louis (I'm relocating). Just wondering if anyone has Sprint in the area and has good/bad experience. We've had Nextel for years, but the coverage is poor outside of major metro areas (on highways). We travel a good bit and are tired of having no service (why can't Nextel grasp the concept of roaming?)
Also, is St. Louis all local calls? Reason being, the primary cell phone use will be for my husband on business downtown. We are still leaning toward living in Lake St. Louis. Does it matter where the number originates from? I just don't want his customers to have to make a toll call every time they call him on the cell phone. Please advise.
Thanks!

We are from the East Coast, and my son is in Puerto Rico. His cell # is the East Coast number area code. Family friends can call, and there is no charge. I hope this helps answer your question. Yes he has Sprint.

I have Sprint (and so do many of my friends) and it seems to be the best in St. Louis. The only exceptions are:
*the cell phone black hole on I-64/Hwy 40 because the snobs in Ladue don't want towers.
*some parts of Wildwood are spotty due to all the hills.

Thanks dweebe. I can't wait to toss that old Nextel into the trash! My husband's phone broke so he took over mine (we knew we were moving and Nextel said if he wanted to replace his phone it'd be another 2 year contract!). So I've been without cell connection for 3 months!
We are getting those cool new picture phones so that should make up for my lost time.
Thanks again!

Quote: Also, is it a toll call/long distance to call from St. Charles into downtown St. Louis? I know they have different area codes...
That's hit and miss. Just because you're calling from 636 to 314 (or vice-versa) doesn't mean it's toll. I live in Clayton and one of my friends in Wildwood is toll while the other isn't. (About the same distance of your calls.)
