Springdale (near Zion) motels?

Is there anyone who has stayed in Springdale and who can recommend lodging options? We'll be hiking and mountain biking in the park, and camping several nights, but want a pleasant and relaxing spot for before and after our backcountry experience.

The Park's campgrounds are right at the Springdale entrance. Sorry, haven't stayed at any of the motels. Do see the CineMax theater in Springdale - great views of area.

Our family just visited Mt. Zion over Easter break. we stayed in St. George
about 40 miles from Mt. Zion, at the Best Western Abbey Inn with full breakfast for about $68 AAA rate.
Very nice room, check out the AAA books.
Did notice a few nice motels in Springdale while driving through. I remember one Mt. Zion &
Convention Inn that looked great, I would of canceled St. George and stayed
there but it was to late.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Elaine. Mt. Zion and Convention Inn looks attractive. Has anyone tried the Desert Pearl? They advertise large rooms w/microwave and fridge, and are right on the river. Apparently they've not been open long enough to get a AAA rating. Anyone stayed there? Other lodging options? Thanks for your leads.

I just stayed at the Desert Pearl last weekend and it was wonderful. Try to get a riverview room, although all are nice -- yes and huge. They do have small refrig and microwave -- however, no utensils or plates, so bring your own. High quality linens, etc. One drawback, floors are wood which looks lovely, but gives the downstairs rooms a noise problem. Sounds like elephants are dancing upstairs. They are carpeting upstairs rooms, but didn't say when. Also fairly new is the Switchback. It's perfectly nice, but not quite as nice. Many other small semi-funky motels in town, but you will definitely need reservations at all!! Be sure to do the Angel's Flight hike. The view is awesome.

PS: The Cliffrose has also always looked good to me, but I haven't seen the rooms. Eat at Finnegan's, The Bit n' Spur Saloon and the Zion Noodle and Pizza Co. Be sure to see Michael Frateli's gallery in the same old church building.

Hi - Friends of our son's stayed at Finnegan's and said the room was very nice, clean, & food was great. They enjoyed it very much. Zion is absolutely beautiful--enjoy!
