Spontaneous trip to Maui on Monday!

My cousin called and said, "Come with me for a spontaneous trip to Maui!" So off we go. I'm just going for the day; she's going to stay the week. Anything new I should check out while there?

Want to get a local favor? Go to Polli's for great Mexican
food upcountry in Makawao Town. They have a full bar. The little town has great shops and people. The locals are very friendly and you'll feel at home. Also upcountry there is a new zip line that takes you up in the trees near PoliPoli. Had a little rain lately, but it has been mostly beautiful and warm. Skip the downhill guided bike tours so you can home in one piece. If you want to bike, rent one from one of the unguided tour companies. They'll take you up to the top of the volcano and drop you off. Take your time coming down. Enjoy..Aloha....

Macheteman, very interesting about renting a bike and doing that on your own. I have clients, much more athletic than I, who said the ride was toooooo much. I googled and didn't find anything. Any more information?

Also, of all the zip lines on all the islands -- which one is exceptional? They're too expensive to do a lot of them.
