Special Restuarant in NYCity for daughter's 30th
I am looking for a restaurant that is quiet and would be somewhat "special" for a trip we are planning to NY City to celebrate my daughter's big 30. She likes Italian and/or seafood. I don't want to spend a NY fortune...but willing to go a little upscale. Any suggestions?

Italian--L'Impero, Il Buco, Il Cantinori. You will get many recos for the Mario Batali restaurants but they're difficult to get a res., pricey and imo no big deal.
Seafood--nothing beats Le Bernardin. To avoid bankruptcy go for the prix fixe lunch. Aquagrill and Oceana also very good.

If you let us know about what you want to spend, it will be easier to pick a good restaurant in your price range. One of the fun things about NY is that there are great restaurants for almost any budget.

Hi,
Based on your use of the word 'special' I'm going to give you 3 high-end suggestions
Kittachai - Thai
Lure Fish Bar - Seafood
Spice Market - Eclectic asian fusion (whatever that is)
Have a look at my site in the usa section for my review...
