Spa in Tahoe?

Hi,

I am looking for a good spa in Tahoe near where we will be staying. We're staying in East/North Tahoe in between Tahoe City and Squaw Valley.

I'm thinking of either the spa at the Resort at Squaw Creek or the Village at Squaw Valley. I want to get a message and a facial. Has anyone ever been to either of these? Or to a good spa close to here? I don't want to travel all the way to South Lake Tahoe or Incline Village.

Thanks!

I have never been but have heard very good things about the Resort and Squaw Creek. I think the Hyatt has a new spa..well fairly new after their renovation a few years ago. Incline Village is not all THAT far from Tahoe City. There aren't a TON of choices up there especially if you don't want to take a fairly long drive. Squaw Valley has become pretty "up-scale" in the last few years.

Tahoe City/Squaw Valley is at West/North Tahoe - not east.

Squaw Creek is your best bet. Anything in Squaw Valley will be upscale to very posh.

But as crefloors says, Tahow City to Incline is not very far - especially in Lake Tahoe terms.

Unless you are driving around the 4th of July.

Or in the snow (yep - snowing today down to about 4500 feet) on Memorial Day, or on Labor Day

Tahoe, Tahoe, Tahoe (I hate typos - but that doesn't keep me from making them!)

Yeah DH was there yesterday, SV that is, and said it was freezing. Not surprised that it's snowing. Natch yesterday all the peeps were driving their boats up 80 and I'm thinking May is rarely a good month for boating at Tahoe.

I was at Incline over the weekend and up til Tues and it was overcast, cool-ish, intermittent rain. Today all the newscasts had shots of families camping for the holiday weekend up on 50 and 80 -- in shorts and miserable with 5 inches of new snow on the ground. One family actually phoned a relative down in Sac to bring them a care package of ski jackets and boots.

The same week last year - Sat. was actually hot w/o a breeze - the lake was like a mirror. But by Monday evening it was spitting snow and thick fog up on the summit.

You just never can tell in the Sierras in the springtime . . . .

Thanks to all! Yes, I meant to say ""West" not "East." I think I'll try Squaw Valley because we will be staying very close to there and it sounds like it will be luxurious.

Also, I *will* be there at 4th of July and don't want to get caught up in all of the traffic, which I've experienced before . . . .
