Spa in downtown Chicago

My daughter and I will be traveling to Chicago at the end of April. We are taking the train from Detroit to Chicago. Since I don't plan on renting a car I am interested in staying in a hotel downtown that has a nice spa. I also wouldn't mind suggestions for a hotel downtown with a day spa nearby.

I live in Chicago, so I don't really know the amenenities of various hotels...though I think the Four Seasons does have a spa.

Having said that, if you find a hotel near North Michigan Avenue (I doubt you really want to be downtown in the loop - the businss district), you will be able to find several near by Day Spas. I have been to Red Door (Elizabeth Arden) - very nice. Mario Tricoci is also nice. I think Nordstrom's has a spa, too. Tiffani Kim is in the River North area and I have heard good things about them as well.

There are so many hotels in the near north area that you may want to suggest a budget to get reactions.

Kiva Spa is downtown and is very nice. I have always had great services with them. And they will be less expensive then the hotel spas.

Tiffani Kim spa also has a location in the Park Hyatt Hotel near the Water Tower on North Michigan Avenue.

The Nordstrom spa is nice, and is in the Northbridge mall where the store is. I think there is a hotel there as well, maybe Le Meridien?

You didn't say how much you were "willing" to spend or how old your daugher is. That aside, The Peninsula Hotel has a fabulous spa.The spa at the Park Hyatt is also amazing. While the Four Seasons has a great spa...the hotel is under renovation and I would stay away for now.
