southwest vacation
finalized plans for our upcoming vac, but i would love any feedback or suggestions. flying to albuquerce evening. Rental car to Santa Fe where we will spend the night. want to look at santa fe then off to Taos. Plan to stay in Farmington with next day quick visit to 4 corners then into S. Rim of Grand Canyon. spending the night there and going to Lake Powell in the afternoon where we will stay at Lake powell resort. Anyone stay here? Good place? and which tour on the lake should we take? antelope canyon or Rainbow bridge? We will visit Bryce Canyon the next day and Zion Nat'l Park then Las Vegas to relax in luxury for 4 days. Which mega hotel would be best? We have to drop off the rental and guess no suggestions on how to beat the one way steep drop off fee? Any suggestions for Bryce or Zion? It will just be me and my 2 daughters in their 20's. we're not much for major hiking but will do some mini 2 mile or so.Any eating places anywhere along the way that are outstanding?

Sounds like you have it pretty well worked out. Check out several posts in here (under New Mexico) about dining in Sante Fe and Taos, and under Utah - there are plenty about the various parks.
As for Vegas - I always love looking out at the marvelous fountains in front of the Bellagio - whether from the Bellagio or one of the rooms at a nearby resort.
The hot new place is the Cosmo/City Center mega resort - next door to the Bellagio. It's also fun to eat across the street at the Paris outdoor cafe - Gabi Mon Ami - and watch the fountains do their magic, and we have had rooms at Planet Hollywood that also once had a view of the fountains but don't know if the new City Center may have blocked that out.

Check out www.carrentals.com, and then ask about drop off fees from the various companies.

Please don't tell me that you will leave Page, drive to Bryce NP, see it, drive to Zion NP, see it and then drive to LV all in one day???? Even if you don't take any major hikes it will take half a day to see Bryce 3-4 hrs, half a day to visit Zion (3-4hr minimum) and about 8 hrs to drive it all.
A sensible way to see it would be to drive from Page to Bryce stay the night.
Drive from Bryce to Zion, stay the night
Drive from Zion to LV
You can stay in the Lodge in either park.
Or for Bryce Ruby's Inn or any of the other hotels they operate in the same area just outside Bryce.
For Zion there are many hotels in Springdale that would be great.
I would take the Rainbow bridge boat tour on Lake Powell. Or you might enjoy the river raft trip down the Colorado below the dam ( raftthecanyon.com )
