Southern California trip ideas
I'm planning a trip to southern California in October and looking for suggestions of places to visit. I'll be in San Diego for a few days, but plan to fly into LA and drive south, stopping to explore a few beach communities along the way. I've been to Hermosa and always enjoyed it, but want to try somewhere new. I've been told Newport and Laguna are great, but I know very little about them. I like to keep active (would love to get a surfboard in the water...a paddle board and a kayak, too), but also want a place that has a good social scene (translation: single guy who would like it if there was something to do at night...meeting new people is fun).
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

IMO definitely stop by Salt Creek Beach, just south of Laguna. Gorgeous place imo and a surfing hotspot when surf is up. No shortage of places to go at night for a single guy.
October imo is one of the best times to visit Laguna Beach, after the summer/Festival of Arts/etc crowds have left.
