South Seas Plantation accomodations question

I'm thinking about making last minute Christmas reservations at South Seas Plantation. The website shows photos of rooms that have recently been renovated. Has anybody been to this resort in the past couple of years, and, if so, can you confirm that the rooms are, in fact, in great shape.

The two types of accomodations available are:
Harborside Waterview at the Pointe rooms and Bayside Villas rooms. I am not familiar with the layout of the resort so I have no idea which of these two room types are nicer, or how they differ from eachother.

Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!!

Good question about recent visits since earlier reports and my own experience were awful. I will be curious because I hope it has improved.

I was there pre-hurricane, so the condo we rented was fine but at that time, they nickeled and dimed you to death for every single breath you took. It is also a l-o-n-g way from the nearest supermarket, should you have plans for cooking. The distance as the crow flies isn't so bad, but at the posted (and patrolled) 35 MPH speed limit, it takes a long time.

South Seas was closed for 2 years after hurricane Charley made a direct hit. Virtually rebuilt or refurbished from head to toe. It was overdue.

I'm a local and did some of the renovation work (I'm an interior designer). I haven't stayed there.

The resort has been sold in the past two years and now has all new management. I haven't heard much good or bad about it yet.

I was there in March and it is beautiful. We stayed in a Harborside Waterview room which was great- a balcony one floor up from the sand where we could watch dolphins and herons and ospreys and a raccoon who slept in the palm tree. The room was big with two queen beds and a table and chairs with an amazing bathroom. We requested a microwave which they brought for no charge. It was a lovely vacation!
How many people are you? I'd be happy to answer any other questions.
