No, we will not be coming. I told Day that if we were not able too that I would make her list again for her, thus my post.

Sorry Day, it would have been nice to meet so many wonderful posters, perhaps another time. Anyone want to come to Kansas?

Hello? That is where the Sunflower's live what more do you need?

No in reality there is more to Kansas then you may think, take a minute and you may find you just have to come to Kansas.

I agree. I always say, there are no boring places, only boring people.

When my dad worked for Continental Oil we were transferred to Ponca City, Oklahoma, so were close to the Kansas border. We often went to Wichita. Don't remember much about it though and it obviously has changed in all these years since. Sorry we won't see you two SFG.

Come to SF and we'll having you saying "Mrs SFG, we're NOT in Kansas anymore" within minutes.

Mrs Kal may have a conflict so I may show up Lonesome George again.

Hi, sorry to butt in, but I know you are looking for a place for the GTG in SL Tahoe. We are leaving for our annual July 4th week tomorrow in Incline Village, and I'll keep my eyes open for you, but I was thinking you might look into Tep's Villa Roma. We've been going there with another family for years during the winter ski season and it suits us one of the nights.

Reviews are mixed, and I think they may have room for your group if someone wants to check about the banquet room if you have 25. Otherwise, they don't take reservations for the tables inside, so it wouldn't work out.

It's hardly gourmet, but they have a nice salad bar with soup and homemade rolls and garlic bread, and you can order off a menu.

Sorry Giovanna, I haven't hung out in S. Tahoe in about 30 years. I still remember the "Top of the Wheel" at Harvey's! I have some of the glasses the tropical drinks came in at the bar.

Ah the good old days MichelleY! The only place I can think of is on the north side, Jake's on the Lake, and we haven't been there for years, which is why I haven't suggested it. It belongs to the same company as Duke's in Honolulu. We had access to a cabin on that side of the lake years ago and often went there for dinner and loved the place, but who knows now. In any case, hope we'll see you and your daughter.

Just for fun tried to find Jake's on the Lake and apparently it no longer exists. The company has a lodge/restaurant on the west side of the lake, but I couldn't find anything on their website about the place we used to enjoy. Time marches on!

The restaurant at Sunnyside is the same company as Duke's. Hopefully, Suzie will chime in with a suggestion on the S. shore.
