South Lake Tahoe charming restaurants

We will be in South Lake Tahoe for Christmas and are hoping there is a charming old wood or stone restaurant that also has good food. Hopefully it would be open on Christmas day, but we would go another time if not. Ideas?

South Lake Tahoe....

I know what you mean looking for that old Tahoe look.

I don't know about south lake Tahoe maybe the Beacon Bar and Grill at Camp Richardson would do it for you:

Maybe Nepheles:

Others that I can think of are on the west and north:

West shore cafe, sunnyside resort,
christy hill, Lone Eagle Grille at the Hyatt in Incline Village.

I was thinking of Soule Domaine or Lone Eagle Grille, but they are both 25 min. away on the north shore, at Incline Village, or Crystal Bay.

Still worth a drive for special atmosphere.

Soule Domaine sounds exactly like what you are looking for, but it is on the North Shore.

Cafe Fiore is very charming, it is an Italian restaurant with fantastic food and ambiance. Evan's Gourmet Cafe is also very, very good with lots of charm, no wood stove here, tho. ***kim***

OOps hit the reply button too soon. Cafe Fiore is open on Christmas Eve and Christams Day. You'd want to make reservations early as there are only 7 tables indoors.

This is an utterly romantic restaurant.

And the list of places I could ask you about is as long as my arm!!!

There are people who live in places and then there are people who LIVE in places! Fortunately for us here at Foders we've got you who really LIVES!!
