South Beach - Restaurants

I am going on a girls trip to South Beach in mid to late September. We are in our early 30s and are looking for the "hottest" restaurant right now in South Beach - chic atmosphere, cool people, great martinis, good food. Where do we need to be to find that?

Table 8, Prime 112, the restaurant at the Setai, deVitos. Also google Miami Restaurant Month. It's a special in August and September where Miami's best restaurants have a $35, 3 course menu. It's a great thing. Restaurant menus are online and you can check out particular websites.

I can't say its "the" hottest, but I can tell you that Barton G is great. The setting is wonderful and the food presentations are SPECTACULAR. Great people watching too!

DMG I was reluctant to recommend Barton G because I was not sure how "hot" it is - but my Dad who lives in Boca - loves it and often goes down there to eat there - my cousin who travels the world first class - RAVED about it... I would check it out one night when you are there Becca.

Thanks everyone! I was there during Miami Spice last September and ate at the Blue Door and Vix. We also ate one night at Prime 112. I've checked out the restaurants offered during Miami Spice this year, and while the Blue Door and Vix are on the list again and we may go there, I wanted to try something new and "hot" - even if it didn't happen to be participating in Miami Spice. I'll check out the restaurants you mentioned and would welcome any other suggestions from anyone else. Thanks!

I just ate at the Blue Door on Sunday night for Miami Restaurant month. All 3 courses were fabulous and the service was impeccable. Don't know if this is the hottest spot in town, but I will definitely be going back.

I would head over to China Grill. It's very chic and you will find "beautiful people" there. Great for martinis and mingling.

Definately the China Grill. You need to also check out these bars:

Shore Club and Delano Hotel.

Have fun!
