South Beach Accomodations

Looking for THE place to stay on South Beach end of April. Have heard that the Park Central is good, also Delano. Nightclub reccomendations would also be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Delano...too chic for words and the lobby is positively otherworldly. I posted a message a whle ago but it seems to be lost in cyberspace or you will be reading this as a second message. The server for this site is a mess.

Ditto on Delano. Love it love it love it. If it's too pricey, or booked, at least go for drinks.

If you love Latin, go to Mango's. It's wild, the dancing is awsome.

I vote for Il Cordozo hotel which last time I stayed there was owned by Gloria Estefan, very funky!! It is right on Ocean Drive as well. Be sure to visit the Marlin Hotel they have a cool bar/lounge area.

I'll try for the fourth (or fifth) time to answer this request...the gremlins keep stealing my response. If money is no object, The Tides is the best choice. Rooms are twice the size of the Delano, the location is the same, and telescopes are provided for beach-watching. The Tides was selected by a SoBe magazine as the best place to stay at any price. When we were there a few months ago they were shooting a Harrison Ford movie. It didn't make for a perfect hotel experience but it WAS interesting!

The place not to stay is the Beachcomber. It was pretty bad. The tides and the Cordozo both looked beautiful, but I didn't see the rooms. If you get a chance and have lots of time, try Joe's Stone Crab House. It was great. Can't help with the nightclubs but everyone there was talking about them.

Have a good trip.

Whatever you do, do not stay at the Beachcomber. This hotel is very noisy, the rooms shabby, and the hotel staff extremely rude. If money is no object try the Tides, the Delano or the brand new Loews Miami Beach. The pool at the Loews is spectacular!
