soul food, atlanta
Heading to Atlanta on Monday and looking for some soul food. Staying at the Omni CNN. Busy Bee and Paschal's look to be a quick cab ride away. Which is better? Or is there a different place I should try?

IMO, Pascals = soul food in Atlanta.
Don't know Busy Bee.
There's usually a line waiting outside Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles on Peachtree -

If you want "Southern" and not necessarily "soul food", I can strongly recommend Mary Mac's Tea Room and/or Colonnade. You can take MARTA and walk to Mary Mac's (and/or cab either/both)

Will second Mary Mac's, which I enjoyed. There are folks that like the Colonnade, but I found them disappointing when I went.
In addition to the other spots mentioned in this thread, will also list Thelma's Kitchen as another local example of this cuisine that shows up in guidebooks on Atlanta. No idea what their food is like.

Mary Mac's has Brunswick stew, although it's not my favorite version of it.
Sonny's BBQ does a good Brunwick stew, but not sure how close one is to where you'll be...

Well, I looked. Not close. Most BBQ places will have Brunswick stew.
