Sorry to ask another Alaska shore excusion question

But, It's important to me. I had to choose between Ketchikan Misty Fjords flightseeing and Juneau's Helicopter/glacier landing. I reserved Misty Fjords and have been thinking I may have choosen the wrong one. I'm sure they are both wonderful, but having to choose just one, which would you take?

We did the Misty Fjords trip and enjoyed it, but I can't compare it to landing on a glacier as we did Captain Larry's whale watching tour in Juneau (fantastic!). On the MF trip, you will fly out, land on a river, and take a boat trip back (or do it in reverse). The flight shows you how astonishingly huge this area is and how forested it is. Our pilot showed us a couple of Forest Service cabins you can rent, but you have to fly in. Very interesting. Don't worry about which trip is better--they're all good.

We did Capt. Larry also and had a great trip. They were always one step ahead of the other companies in the water. We would get pretty close (one time with about 20 yds) after we were with the whales a few other companies that seemed to be following us would come in. We saw appx. 10 different whales some very close and they didnt waste their time on the ones that seemed to distance themselves from the boat. If the whales didnt cooperate they moved on to another pod. We saw

As the previous poster noted, Captain Larry can, bylaw, get closer to the whales than the larger ships because of the size of his boat. We saw both Orcas and humpbacks--lots of each. He was recommended by others on this board and we were really glad we went with him. He has a knack for finding whales!
