Sonoma: mid Feb-mid Mar

I had no idea the weather and temps were so awful.

I'm not sure what the point of your post is, mikemo, but I was there a few years ago around March 10th and had absolutely great weather so I guess you can really never tell.

Did you check the averages? It is typically rainy at that time. Last year was unusually wet and cold (in CA terms) the full month of March. Feb was actually better as I recall.

Yes, Suki's experience shows one it dos vary from year to year. If it's a choice of Mid Feb. or Mid March, usually Mid March will be better. Though that wasn't the case last year, LOL.

Of course, as I'm a weather freak.

Well yeah - it's winter - LOL. Winter in northern california is wet and chilly.

One of the great things about living in this area though is that winter weather isn't terrible from November through April - there are plenty of gorgeous days in between storms and sometimes we get a nice heat wave and we are all in shorts in February As a visitor, the weather is hit and miss depending on timing.

mike, honey,it's not bad at all here.
Last March was an exception.
I've spent days in Feb/March out enjoying the sun. At the moment, I look forward to Feb & March as we are barely
out of 50 at the moment and the weekend lows are to be around 19 !

Oh man - those lows are going to be terrible. I was so happy when my plants all seemed to survive the last cold snap, but this one I am really worried about.

When is Kal coming back? He always wears shorts. Oh, I'd pay big money to see him in this cold

J Correa-
How are your plants today ?
I strung Christmas lights all through
various planters in the yard-and especially the citrus trees
(I've also tented in a particularly open spot)
and so far so good-have you tried
this ?

J Correa,

I have saved my large potted jade plant on the north deck from several frosts by covering it with a sheet.
