Something to do in Massachusetts TOMORROW!
I know this is last minute, but I'm looking for something to do solo tomorrow. I'm staying in Dedham and have a car (at about noon). I have to be back to dedham by 10 at the latest, although i'd like to be back a few hours before that (unless I can find something really awesome to do!)
I was thinking of driving over to cape cod, but really don't know anything about it, or Massachusetts in general. WOuld my time be better spent driving around Boston?
Any advice would be very much welcome!

Getting to the Cape will be easy, but getting back could be traffic-y as lots of weaknesses return home.
I would go to Boston. Notice I said "go to", not drive around. You could drive into the city, try to find a meter or park in the Boston Common Garage for $18. Or drive to a subway station and take it to Park Street station. The drop into the Visitors' Center on the Common and start walking the freedom trail. Or since you are travelling alone, if you would lime company, join a walking tour. Boston City Walks gets good reviews.
If you want to see ocean, there is a sand sculpure festival going on at Revere beach. That is the country's oldest public beach. You can drive there, but it does get backed up. You can also get very backed up. You can get there by subway, too. Take the blue line to the very last stop, Wonderland. Follow the pedestrian bridge to the beach. Turn right and you will immediately see the castles. (You can also get off at the Revere Bexch stop, but if you are not familiar with the area, you are much less likely to go in the wrong direction from Wonderland.
Happy Planning!

I prefer to drive and take advantage of the fact I rented a car =) The more I'm planning, the more I realize it might have been a mistake to rent a car if I just go into Boston...
The sand sculpture festival sounds amazing! I'll look into that.
Thank you!

Salem is a good idea, I was there today.
You could definitely drive there and, at this time of year, see sites via walking and driving. Consider stopping in at the Peabody-Essex Museum and the House of Seven Gables. Then continue on to SALEM Willows for a meal or snack and a stroll along the waterfront. I was at the Willows today to buy popcorn for a family gathering.
