Soccer in NYC bars?

Hi,
I'm heading to NYC on Monday till Thursday and my addiction to Manchester United means I really want to catch the European cup Semi Final on Wednesday. Can anyone tell me where's a good bar to watch in Manhattan preferably near the shops so my other half can take out her anger at me on my credit card?
Will I have to pay in to the bars there to see the game?

C

I don't have a personal recommendation for NYC, but www.soccerbars.com has some listings. You can start there.

Good Luck! Your side looks much better than ours (Bayern) against those Italians.

Oh, and the games are being shown on ESPN2 (not pay-per-view), so there should not be a charge. The air time will be 2:30pm EDT.

I'd try Baker Street Pub on 1st Ave at 63rd Street. Near where I used to live. Heavy soccer and rugby focus, very neighborhood friendly. Not too far from Bloomingdales, and then just a bit farther walk to shops on Madison and 5th Ave.

I'm sure most Irish bars will have the match. There's a group of them called Connolly's that are spread out near touristy areas.
