Snowbird in Summer? What's it like?
We are considering going to Snowbird this summer and staying at the Cliff Club. What is there to do in the middle of summer? Is it deserted? Are there golf courses nearby? What is the weather like?
All answers are appreciated. Thanks,
Jean

Snowbird is beautiful in the summer. They have the tram running and have recently added an alpine slide. Sometimes it is deserted but I believe in August Octoberfest starts so there will be crowds especially on the weekends. There are not any golf courses nearby. The weather could be 70's - 80's in the day.
If you are looking for rest and relaxation, you'd probably enjoy it, if you need more activity, Park City would probably be a better choice.

Yes there is a nice swimming pool on the top floor as well as a spa. There is definitely hiking and they'll let you take mountain bikes up the tram to ride down.
Day trips are definitely doable, but you have to travel back down the canyon, approximately 20/30 min. which will put you in the South end of the Salt Lake Valley. From there its probably 40 min. to Park City (with several golf courses) 30 min. to Thanksgiving Point (another golf course, and beautiful gardens you can tour) or 20 min. into downtown Salt Lake.

Sandy is at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon - the canyon Snowbird is up. Sandy does have the closest golf courses to Snowbird - Hidden Valley and Pebblebrook. I'm not a golfer, so can't give you any info on these.
