No smoking in bars & restaurants in the entire State of NJ, including all public areas. You're going to have to suck them down prior to entering the terminal.

Can't wait until the ban reaches A/C casinos. We were at the Borgata for the day on Friday. During the afternoon, it was not too bad; in the evening, however, all the smokers must have landed.

We did luck out & find a no-smoking "Let It Ride" table!

Sue, because of the high number of gamblers that smoke, the casinos will continue to find loopholes.

I wonder if anyone's tried to determine the high number of gamblers who don't smoke but are shut out of casinos due to overabundance of smoke.

Restaurants & bars have not missed a beat in NY & NJ since the laws changed. I think that casinos would fare just as well.

I hear that argument about drinkers, too. If they can't smoke, they won't drink as much, etc. We're trying to get a ban in Louisville, but of course they will exempt Churchill Downs, lol. Is it that smokers know they have less time, might as well just blow the money before being stuck at home on a respirator?

There was a hotel/casino in Reno called the Poderosa...it was non-smoking and went backrupt. NOT venturing an opinion here, just stating a fact.

My guess is that website has not been updated since the 15 April 2006 cigarette ban went into effect.

Perhaps, but my guess is that the secure area of an international airport is not a "public area" at all, but is more akin to diplomatic soil...

There have been tons of studies linking smoking and gambling.

The bottom line is that a majority of the whales smoke and they represent a big part of a casinos profits.

Casinos will do whatever necessary to protect their gamblers ability to smoke including taking on unions and winning in court.

I don't care one way or the other but it seems to me if the smoke bothered me, I wouldn't support that casino. Enough people boycott, maybe that will change the industry.

Sorry, but if they had thought about it long enough, the Founding Father's would have added the "right to smoke and drink in a casino" to the Bill of Rights.

There are some things that should still be acceptable in this overly PC society. One of them should be smoking in a casino. BTW, I don't smoke except on my once or twice a year trip to Vegas.

One of the reasons I go to Vegas is to come home and spend the next two days sounding like Barry White.

Many of the Atlantic City casinos have large non-smoking areas on the gambling floors.
Might you catch a whiff or two in them -- yes. But the air isn't blue.

I don't think the OP gives a crap about the casino smoking policy. He's concerned about getting in his last puffs before his flight.

Thanks. Sounds like the jury is still out depending upon how recent that article was written about the bars.

It's a pain to have to clog the already long securiy lines for EVERYONE when smokers must leave the secure area to go outside for a puff. I was recently at LAX and they had a nice atrium area (outside but still within the secured area) which was perfect. The only people out there were smokers so it didn't bother the non's. Hopefully as airports are remodeled they will all have something similar.
