SKI TRIP IN ELLICOTTVILLE

I'm looking into a ski trip in late January with a group of 4 friends.

Any information pertaining to details on ski resort(s), accommodation, package deals, etc would be most welcome.

Thanks

Bridget

I don't ski so I can't give you first hand knowledge. Hopefully, these sites will help you:

Hi, Bridget! We go there a lot! With 4 friends you wld probably want to rent a condo. But call soon b/c they book up far in advance. I will get you the phone # but in the meantime try www.holidayvalleyinn.com ( or maybe try it w/o inn if that does not work) I will post back w/ the #.

Bridget - so far everyone is pointing you to Holiday Valley and they are Correct!... HV was just picked as the third best ski resort in the Northeastern region of North America (behind Stowe and n.Quebec)... They have great accomodations in their lodge hotel with fireplace rooms, restaurants, and any hill challenge that you are seeking... rooms can be had with lift tix and equipment rentals and the village is about 5 minutes away with all the happnin' nightlife and boutique shopping... Have fun but book early!

I've been to Holiday Valley many times and would highly recommend staying at the Inn at Holiday Valley. Very nice accomodations with convenient ski-in/ski-out right by a lift. They serve a hot breakfast buffet. Also have nice heated outdoor pool/hottub. Request a room on ground level right by the lift. The quality of condos in the area varies, so if you go that route be sure to get one in good shape. There's also lots of B&B options, but I would recommend the Inn for a group of friends. Make your reservation ASAP ... It may already be too late to get a room there for a weekend.

The Inn @ Holiday Valley is a great option for 4 friends. Get 2 rooms "slopeside". As mentioned they book up very far in advance but you may be ok if going mid-week as opposed to a weekend.
Heed the warning above about the quality of the condos! They vary greatly. HV Condo Reservations has a rating system...I think it goes A,B, C. Make sure you get A. Some of the condos including the ski-in/ski-out condos have been "heavily used" ( ie, partying, loud, etc). Ask for one of the newer ones. Some of the condos @ Wildflower have been built in the last couple of years. Wildflower is not ski-in/ski-out but it does have very frequent shuttle (a 2 minute ride!).

A good place to eat across the road HV Ski Hill & Inn ,& also w/in walking distance of Wildflower, is The Depot. Great pizza, wings, pasta, salads. It's always packed! Downtown (about a 5 minute drive from the ski Hill) there are lots of great places to eat...Tips Up, Brewing Company( not exact name but close) & others. Always busy.

I still don't have that # for you, Bridget but if you go to holiday valley.com you will find all you need.

Have a great trip! Maybe we'll see you there!!!
