Sitting in the balcony for Urinetown

I just made reservations last night to see Urinetown. We wanted to be very economical so we are sitting in the balcony. The seating chart doesn't even show a balcony! When buying the tickets, it said that the balcony included stool seats with a padded back. Has anyone sat in these before? Are we going to be miserable??

With a name like Urinetown, I'd much rather be sitting up in the balcony. Better to be pi--ed off than pi--ed on you know.

Shelley, is it a sequence to "vagina monologues"?

Should be fine. The view at some theaters is somewhat distant from the balcony (not sure on where it's playing, but have sat in the balcony at several theaters in NYC), but you also paid less so it's a good compromise to see the show.

Unfortunately haven't been to see it because my other half already saw it, but he and countless others have said it's a great play.

The theater is not that big, so you should be okay. What row?
Faina, your attempt at humor was a disaster. You meant "sequel," not "sequence"! And, if it wasn't an attempt at humor, the answer is no!

Hmmmm.... what's the average IQ here?

Yes, Faina, there is a Broadway show called Urinetown, and it's received good reviews. What's your IQ by the way? This isn't the first dumb comment I've seen you make here.

I really don't want to rain on your parade, but I sat in the balcony for Urinetown in some rather uncomfortable stool seats...I don't know if it was the acoustics or what, but I had a hard time understanding/hearing some of the lyrics. Before the show they ran annoying search lights in front of us every couple of minutes, which we had to shield our eyes from with our programs. I usually sit in the nosebleed seats on Broadway and don't have a problem, but here I did. Again, I wish I had better news, but I did want to warn you. It's a small theater, but bring your binoculars. Maybe it has improved since March. We did enjoy the actual play, but I was definitely disappointed in the seats. Please let me know if I can offer any more information.

We're sitting in row B of the balcony. And for those of you unfamiliar with the musical, it was nominated for many Tony awards. Yes, the name is a little odd, but it's received excellent reviews. Check out the website.

Thanks for the info Jenny. That's what I was afraid of...Were you serious about the binoculars?
