Can anyone recommend accomodations near/on the Silver Comet Bike Trail? (NW of Atlanta, GA)
Thanks

Where are you picking it up and how far are you riding?

AlanC, the Silver Comet Trail (at least the paved part) is 37 miles long and goes into Rockmart. Do you intend to bike back the same day?

These questions may seem odd but if you don't intend on riding back, you may want to book a hotel closer to the end of the trail.

If you're hunting for a hotel, you might like the Vinings area. It's not far from the Trail. I can't think of one at the moment but it is a nicer area than finding one on Cobb Parkway or S. Cobb Drive.

Hotels in Viings would be your best choice for that end of the trail. I understand that there is some trail open beyond Rockmart, but I haven't been out that far.

In Vinings, near Cumberland Mall/Galleria area, there's a Holiday Inn Express, the Vinings Wyndham, an Embassey Suites, a Homewood Suites, a Hampton Inn and others.

While the area along the Silver Comet Trail is developing rapidly, there aren't many hotels along the way. Development consists mostly of housing subdivisions and apartments, strip malls and fast food outlets.

Thanks for the suggestions and the links.
I think I will stay in the Vinings area - my wife doesn't bike. She could drop me at trail and shop.

Once again, thanks for the help.

There are a bunch of shops in Vinings Village ("downtown" Vinings) that your wife would probably enjoy.
