Should we make dinner reservations in advance for Vegas restaurants (end of June)?

We are going to Vegas for the first time for 3 nights June 25-June 28, and are staying at the Mirage. Are reservations at the hotel restaurants 100% necessary? Thinking of someplace like Delmonico's at the Venetian, or Onda at the Mirage. Would we be foolish to wait until we get there to choose restaurants, I would hate for places to be booked already. Thanks!

We always make our reservations in advance. Especially on weekends. If you want to take a chance, you don't have to but be prepared to have to take the 5:00pm seating or the 10m seating
If you book at the hotel you are staying in, the desk does it for you.

Try: www.opentable.com
You can review the various restaurants and their menus.
Then you can check the reservation times and book~without a credit card! At least you can secure a seat and then cancel later if necessary.

I'd also recommend OpenTable. I find it easier to do online at my convenience instead of trying to call restaurants and being put on hole. The nice extra touch is that I just got an email from Open Table that says I've earned "points" from booking through them, that I now have a $50 gift certificate to use at any of their participating restaurants (which is lots of them).

We were in Vegas in March, and missed eating at alot of restaurants because we did not have reses, plus every nite we were seeing a show,so our choice of time was very limited. Make the reses

By all means, if you want a certain place at a certain time, make a reservation!! It can't hurt to be guaranteed of what you want. That being said, you may want to "window shop" when you get there, which I suggest doing early enough in the day to be able to reserve for that night or the next, which would also probably be possible if you are flexible on your times. I would book for Sat--most crowded--and maybe leave my options open for Sun and Mon...JMO--Hope you have a great trip!!!
