Should we go to Alaska this summer or someplace else ?

shubha_r - I am always late to the game on booking our summers! I think we got the last 2 cabins on the ship when we went - not optimal locations - right next to the kitchen, but it was fine. I think we booked in March of the year we traveled!! It was a gamble since it was the first summer that InnerSea cruised their non luxury boats!
We flew to Juneau to board - which was actually great!! We went a few days early and stayed at a lovely B&B and explored Juneau. The inn hosts were so amazing in helping us with our 2 days in town. Our kids loved staying in this house.
Don't do a big ship!! Its not the same experience!! And after you add in all the excursions it will be a lot more expensive than what you anticipate! Trust me living in Miami I have been on my fair share of big ships!!! The kids get sucked into the camp and arcade and will lose track of the splendor of Alaska!!
The cruise was expensive - but the kids get 20-25% off (i think.) Mine had their own cabin - very nice for us!! There are very few extras too - most all your excursions are included, except for flight seeing and a few over night camping. We did neither on the ship (we did flight seeing in Juneau - very amazing)
Call or email them - they were really helpful!!! And if there is no space then you have an answer!
