Should I grab this airfare between BWI and Calgary
Or do you think it will get better?
I have found a United Flight (for which I have a $75 off coupon) RT from BWI to Calgary 6/19 with return 6/28...the precise dates and times I need for $509 plus change. Since I haven't priced USA to Canada trips before anticipating this one, I dont know if it will get any better. Opinions, please.

That's a very good idea since there are 4 adults...will think about that one. But...thinking that rental car for the duration will prob eat up that savings too...hmmm...rent one day with drop off in Calgary same dat...rent another day to get back to Montano...hmmm...thinking. Is that the closest US destination to Calgary? I am flabbergasted that it costs so much to fly to Canada when you can flow most routes cross-country in the $200 plus range!

I know! It's like $400+ to most locations in Canada these days.
Great Falls (GTF) should be the closest airport with schedule service to Calgary in the US. At least timewise. But if you don't plan to get a car in Calgary to start with, then renting one in GTF for 8-9 days may not make sense. One-way drop off fees may also be high. There may be coach service, but probably infrequent.
Another alternative is Westjet from LaGuardia. But you'll need to get up to NYC from BWI, and that's not cheap either...
We used to buy tickets to Canada. Now, flying to Canada becomes one of the better ways to spend FF miles. Still only 25K miles.
