Short Time in Albuquerque

We only have a short time in Albuquerque (one afternoon on a Wednesday, and potentially one Sunday morning). Are there any suggestions on recommended things to do in this short amount of time? Or should be spend the time in Santa Fe (where we are staying)?

If you like to hike, there's a great trail on the North end of the Sandia Mountains off of Tramway Blvd. the view is fantastic.

There's Old Town, but I'm sure you're already visiting Santa Fe's Old Town as well, and they're pretty similar. But it's still a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Garduno's is our favorite New Mexican food place to eat - there's 3 locations in town.

There's a great little village with a quaint mainstreet - Corrales - it's on the North end of town off of Paseo Del Norte. They have a nice little mainstreet and the houses are really cool to look at down there, if you're into that kind of thing.

My favorite area is Nob Hill/Central Blvd. Just East of the university - nice little shops and good places to eat.

Hope this helps - Albuquerque is a great town - we lived there for 8 years, and planning on moving back in 2 years to take care of family.

The gondola ride above the town is beautiful with good views and nice walks/hikes.

The indian pueblo cultural center is a
nice place to approach puebloan culture.
There is also a walking tour at the university which is nice, going from
buildings to buildings and sculptures.
In the university the museum of anthropology is a must.
