I don't know anything about this hotel, but I would suggest that you get a starwood card (they're free) and then contact the hotel to let them know you are a starwood member. They will generally give you a free upgrade and sometimes extra goods (bottled water, calendar, candy, etc.)

if this is what used to be the Westin Key Largo, then yes, i've stayed here. we had a room with a nice view, the beach was small but with a dock that extended way out over the water with benches at the end...we rented jet skis....i remember one strange thing: the pool area was across the parking lot closer to US 1 than the rest of the hotel. it's not a place i'd make a point to return to. we drive a bit further and stay at Hawk's Cay Resort near Marathon.

Yes, this was the Westin Key Largo and the pool is across the parking lot from the hotel. Very small beach but nice hotel. There isn't anything within walking distance to the hotel. If you are looking for an alternative try the Marriott in Kye Largo. Beautiful hotel, great views and very nice - and large - rooms. The sunsets are awesome !
