Sheraton, Maui

Help, I need some feedback. I've decided to splurge and stay at The Sheraton with my two kids (6 & 14) in June. Originally my budget was $150.00/room but couldn't find what I wanted.

I'll be paying the Sheraton current promo of $254/including car per night. Any feedback on this? I know theres a lot of savvy people out there and would like to hear from you.

Also we would be able to use the pool property at the Westin.

This site has been great.

If you use Priceline you should get the Westin, Hyatt, or Sheraton for approx. $145/nt. I think Sheraton & Westin are in the same bidding zone. Go to biddingfortravel.com for details. My parents stayed at the Sheraton a few years ago and had a great time. Good location.

Actually if you check the biddingfortravel.com website the Sheraton has been coming up quite a bit in the Lahaina zone for $140/nt.

Nataliemm. Thanks for your post. I'll look into them. I'm wondering it those are like Ebay?

Priceline is like Ebay in that you are bidding for a hotel, but you are not bidding against another person. Priceline has a set limit and when you hit that dollar amount you will get the hotel. As mentioned above, biddingfortravel.com will tell you everything you need to know about Priceline. It is worth the effort to save you more than $100/nt on a hotel room. If you fill out a bid request form in the "hotel FAQ" the moderator will tell you exactly what to bid. Also check the Maui hotel list. Although you will most likey get the Sheraton as it's the only hotel that's been coming up in that zone lately there is still a chance you'll get the Hyatt, Westin, or Marriott. Good luck whatever you decide.

I hope you are still checking this posting even though it has been a over a month since your first posting. We just got back from the Sheraton yesterday (sigh......) and LOVED it. We booked the same deal you did with the car and a garden view. We ended up spending $75 more a night for a deluxe ocean front view which was wonderful. The garden view was fine, but had a small bathroom. The Deluxe OCean Front has a much bigger bathroom and the view was to die for.

The only thing about Priceline that we had heard about was that they will only guarantee double occupancy. Since we took our two kids (ages 6 and 9) it wasn't a chance we could take. The beach there was much calmer and safer than farther down the beach. I made me feel much better with my 6 year old. Just a thought since you also have a 6 year old. Plus kids eat free under the age of 12 with a paying adult. It did help some. We walked down to Whalers Village and had a cheaper meal with McDonalds if you are budget minded. I think our cheapest overall meal was at BJ's Pizza in Lahaina. We had a large pizza and a pitcher of soft drinks for$25. Our McDonald's meals ended up about that price and the view at BJ's was a ton better. Anyway, hope something here helped. You should love the Sheraton. We sure did!
