Beautiful area...are you staying @ Massunutten? Plenty to do there, and they do have some tours to DC. We visited Luray Caverns, American Heritage museum (houses brought over from other countries so you can see how their cultures helped frame the US), Monticello, are just a few of the things to do.

It is a few miles from Harrisonburg, but it's an easy drive. Nothing is really close, but the drives aren't too long. If you want some additional info on Massunutten try the timeshare BBS for Timeshare Users Group @ www.tug2.net You'll get some good answers there. Are you staying in one of the timeshare condos or the hotel?

If you take Rte 33 into Harrisonburg, I81 north to I66 east, you are a little over 2 hours from DC. Where are you coming from? Other sites of interest are Skyline Drive, Staunton, or south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Call for your Virginia is for Lovers travel guide now.

If you are coming from the north on I81 stop off in Strasburg, VA and have lunch at the Strasburg Hotel. Either the pub or dining room, both are great. Or you might want to get a home cooked meal at the Hi Neighbor restaurant on rte 11 in Strasburg. Good food and excellent value.
