I would appreciate any information regarding a stay in Shanghai. It would be just one of the cities in China that we will visit. Is it worth the time to spend a couple days there or more? What sites are worthy? Any recommendations on nice hotels?

freqflier, click on the Asia forum and post there - you're sure to get helpful responses. In addition, once you enter that forum, run a search on "Shanghai". Another suggestion, indicate what your interests are - for some people Shanghai is worth no time, for others (like me) it's worth a week or more. Depends what you're into.

When you post to the Asia forum, also indicate your criteria of "nice" hotels, i.e. amenities, price ...

freqflier: Did you repost to the Asia forum? As Neil said, some don't care for Shanghai, most are fascinated with the city and the surrounding areas. All depends on your interests.
