easytraveler, no. I do not work for Expedia, nor have I used them.
If I recall correctly,Expedia did move Kelly to another hotel the next night, for three nights and well before his huge campaign to discredit them.

I'm glad Expedia is looking into your complaint. Taking the photos does help show what you ended up with vs. just something in writing.
I wouldn't expect results immediately because Expedia does need to hear from Woogo before making a decision.
Placing the property as suspended makes me think that Expedia is taking your complaint very seriously.
It's good to know the big companies will listen to us.

Woogo is pretty hideous company. I found their website, and guess what. Lincoln Center Woogo is their "Property of the Month"! I put in some May dates, and they show availability for Lincoln Center Woogo.
Get this: they charge a 2.5% surcharge for booking with a credit card....hmmmm. Isn't that illegal? They do state they are a UK company, perhaps it's legal there?
Also, their "Terms & Conditions" page states that if you want "immediate checkin" or "early checkin" you should book an additional previous night, because they cannot guarantee someone will be there to check you in! In all my villa rental experiences, I have never seen this.
Bad dog. Very bad dog. I predict Expedia will run fast and far from them.

Oh goodness! (I tried not to look)...
Just for a quick review of my time table: My initial campaign was against WooGo (WooGoSucks.com) due to my inability to get heard at Expedia. You would think after putting, publicaly, such information that I might hear back. (and yes, I sent them the site, along with my opinion in a flaw in their online review system). I let the week past, waiting to hear from Expedia. I posted here, and Traveladvisor. I emailed an entire copy including the NYC link violation to them. And waited. No one replied. SO, come Monday, in another effort to get their attention I wrote Mr. Diller a letter, deteremined his email addresses, and sent it, and published it as well. And then copied all the other IAC executives and corporate contacts.
That finally got someone's attention.
Which, only makes me a bit more irritated for a company that sold us boldly with "We Listen" and "We will be direct and straightforward in all dealings with you."
When the Expedia customer service manager finally called me yesterday the word had come from the top. It had not even reached her escalation department from Expedia. What I'm saying is that before I put up ShameOnExpedia.com, Expedia agents ignored at least two written requests for me to at least just hear back from a supervisor. Apparently, they didn't even pass the information I was sending on up...
p.s. w/ taxes and fees our 4 night bill for WooGo LCA through Expedia was $968.23.

And let's be honest here. We can all assume that this poster was pretty vocal, probably downright demanding in getting anything from Expedia, including the credit. I wonder how they would have responded to someone who is not clearly so vocal and demanding?
GoTravel, I'm with you, for all the comments coming from "some" people here, I truly get the idea she didn't even read the report. She certainly didn't understand it, in any case.

Very interesting and important travel discussion. Once againt he Fodor Forum has proven itself indespensible to the traveler.
Some points--My Best Friend stayed at a Woogoo in Times Square some months back thru Expedia. Although not as bad as this one, it did have it's share of false statements made by Expedia as to its worthiness. There were complaints made. My Best Friend's husband was a bit disgusted by some of the inconsistencies. He too railed at Expedia and the mysteriously hard to reach Woogo management. This was in the FALL. Doesn't seem like Expedia really cares about what properties they put up, since this happened recently. And yes, when they do get complaints they should look into it. Afterall, it's their name too. At some point there should be some type of accountability manifesting itself.
My other Best Friend (yes I have 2--can't decide which is a better Best)had tremendous trouble with Expedia recently. When she went to the airport to take her flight it seems that Expedia 'forgot' to notify the airline that this was an actual ticket and not a 'hold'. Needless to say she ended up missing her flight while this mess got handled.
***But--I have treasured tripadvisor.com for a long time and staunchly recommend it, and the Fodor Forum as necessary reference points when booking trips.
AAA can be useful. They do rate the properties and can drop them as well. They do also have bear accountability.

{quote}""""Their "side" revolves around greed and your wallet, and it has no heart nor principle. Please wake up.
p.s. I'm Mr. Kelly Britt""""
Uhhhhhhhhhh, seems like you should do the waking-up here.
Again, does anyone really USE Expedia anymore? If so, whyyyyyyy?

I've used expedia a couple of times. I priced out the airfare and the hotel separately and it was cheaper to book them together on Expedia. I still got my frequent flyer miles on AA. I still got to chose my airline seat. Why wouldn't I use it exactly?

Also, try to book a Varig Airlines domestic flight?
Worked like a charm on Expedia. Varig.com is showing $395.00 fares, Expedia $175.00 for the exact same flights.
This also works on domestic flights here in the US on occasion. Their fare search engine seems to be more powerful then most airline's web sites. If there is still a lower fare code available for one of the segments, Expedia will pull it up, whereas the most airline sites will jump to the next available fare code on ALL segments and price it as such.
Besides, getting the Tokyo Hilton for 4 nights for $12 total and the Osaka Hilton for 4 nights for $13.56 total is worth my time on Expedia.

I have used Expedia because it can be a good way to comparison shop for hotels in unusual areas such as Salisbury, MD. I do go to hotel web sites and sometimes find it cheaper on Expedia. This thread, if nothing else, has caused me to be very wary of Expedia.

You might want to double-check that the Expedia fare wasn't a one-way. Lately on some sites they've been advertising flights at low prices and it turns out that they're one way...

No, it's up. There was about a 5-10 minute netork outage this morning form our service provider -- an apparent denial of service attack.
I believe there was a court hearing today in NYC that included news media and the chief code inspector for the city.
If we can move this fast, billion dollar corpations should have a much better response system themselves.

Michelle, if you click on the link in the OP's post, then click on the WooGosucks link, scroll down to the bottom and there's the link for the code violations. Amazing. It's not a link about the hearing (which I would like to see), but the code violations are astounding!
