Just the facts,

Notice that I said restaurants that are worth going to. The places you recommend are in the $40-50$ per person range. Quite expensive for a simple late night dinner. I think that Dan B is probably looking for something more resonable than that. Unless it's some special occasion, that is way overpriced! I don't think that nightclubs which require a cover charge, or a bar is what Dan B is looking for either.

Tristan,

I am not angry or hostile, as you may claim. I am trying to give Dan B some realistic advice. It makes absolutely zero sense to suggest to someone who has just gotten off of a late transcontinetal flight to hire a limo to take a whirlwind tour of SF and go to some outrageously priced restaurant when he has an cerly flight the next morning. He would be better off seeing SF another time instead.

Personally I'd rather be screwing my girlfriend than going on some night expedition through SF.

If Dan is willing to pop for a limo driver to show his girlfriend a bit of SF, I don't think any of the restaurants mentioned are exorbitant. That's just the way it is in SF. One of the reason that I mention the Bubble Lounge which is a bit of a compromise since they will have had dinner (yuck) on the airplane. And, do we know he's coming off a transcontinental flight? Maybe he's flying in from Denver! Anyway, we've done stranger things than this and we're in our 50s---according to you we should be in our jammies. At that time of night, you should be in downtown SF from SFO in about 20 minutes.Dan, the only places I can think of near to SFO to eat are Kuleto's Trattoria and Kingfish in San Mateo, but they are not like going to the city and I don't know their hours. Maybe they have websites. Let us know what you decide--I'm curious. Oh, and crab season is over so those guys you will be getting have been swimming around in their tanks and will be pricey. Check Ana Mandara near the wharf for its business hours---Vietnamese and a lovely ambience.

Yeah,Dean, but if I were your girlfriend, I would rather be sightseeing in San Francisco than screwing you in some airport hotel! You can't be that good!

As an alternative to an expensive restaurant, enjoy the limo ride around town. Have the limo stop by Mel's Diner (will accomodate your late night hours) and drive around in the back of the limo enjoying a burger and milkshake while taking in the city lights.

You can sleep on the beach the next afternoon if you're tired from your late night. You only live once - I think that it's great that you want to treat your girlfiend to a cruise through the city.

Have fun in Kauai - a beautiful place!
