SF Financial District Restaurants

My wife and I are staying at the Hotel Griffon on Steuart St. in early December and are looking for an unusual dining experience nearby.

Interesting financial district restaurants include Aqua, Rubicon, Myth, and Bix, nearer to Hotel Griffon which on the Embarcadero is the perennial favorite Boulevard. You will also be close to Slanted Door, in the Ferry Building, which is unusual for a lot of people--Vietnamese with a view of the Bay.

Hi dondo, if you want to go to the Slanted Door I suggest you call for reservations immediately. I have never been succesful getting a reservation when I have called a week before. Have fun in SF!

Given the atmosphere on the board these days I hate to post any comment about another poster's recommendation; but neither Anzu nor Asia de Cuba are nearby the Griffon. I'm not criticizing the suggestions, just clarifying based on dondo's request.

I miss the Cypress Club. Star Wars goes Byzantine decor with foie gras on the menu. It was the first time I ever had a brandied cherry in my Manhattan cocktail.

Steuart St. is not financial district. It's more like South of Market area.
